CAMERON LAYNE

CAMERON LAYNE served as OH NFC’s inaugural Chair for over 3 years. When the chapter was launched, he hit the ground running and never let up. Cameron got immediate wins on the board and set OH NFC up to succeed through his contacts within the state, vision, leadership, and personal commitment. He has been an avid angler and conservationist for most of life. Cameron’s passion is the protection of endangered species, stream habitat, and informing and educating the masses in regard to wild native fish species, especially darters. Cameron grew up just 30 minutes from one of the greatest sources of native fish diversity in the eastern United States, Lake Erie. It was there that he became a fish conservationist. Cameron holds an Associate's degree in Fisheries Management and Aquaculture from Hocking College, and a Bachelor's degree in Fisheries Sciences from West Virginia University where he acted as a American Fisheries Society sub-unit officer. Cameron has gained broad fisheries-related work experiences as an employee of organizations such as the Geauga Park District, Hocking College, West Virginia University, and as a volunteer of Trout Unlimited, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Friends of the Cheat, and American Fisheries Society. While Cameron will be stepping into a new role with NFC, National Vice Chair - Midwest, he will remain on the OH board to help transition things.
