“According to Office H20, it takes more than 17 million barrels of oil a year to manufacture disposable water bottles. The process releases 2.5 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each year. Per Container Recycling Institute, 86 percent of water bottles are not recycled and end up in landfills or our oceans where they kill an estimated 1.1 million marine animals a year.”
