PHILIP SMITH

PHILIP SMITH is a lifelong sportsman and avid fly fisher. He is also a bamboo fly rod maker. Philip has a B.S. in Biology from West Virginia State University. He is passionate about native trout species, especially brook trout. Philip helped lead a campaign to try to establish Birthplace of Rivers National Monument in the Monongahela National Forest, the first wild lands U.S. Forest Service national monument in the eastern United States. He is a National TU Distinguished Service Award and West Virginia TU Silver Trout Award winner, as well as a 3-year West Virginia TU State Council Chair. Philip is also a founding member of Sal font TU chapter, named after brook trout. He can be reached at Info@nativefishcoalition.org
