PALMER HENSON
PALMER HENSON grew up in the Northeast, in a fishing family. Starting as a toddler with a hand-line, progressing to the ever popular Zebco, and eventually a fly rod, he fishes in both fresh and saltwater. After high school, Palmer moved South to attend Vanderbilt University, and he’s been an investment banker in Atlanta for the past 35 years. Palmer’s attention was diverted from meaningful fishing for many years as he pursued trail running, triathlon and climbing, but 10 years ago he came back to the sport, wholeheartedly. Palmer has a long-term goal of finding wild native brook trout in as many streams in the north Georgia mountains as possible – over 100 streams to date. He shares his findings with the Georgia DNR, with whom Palmer has built a close relationship. He’s an active fly tyer, and builds the occasional rod.
