MARK SIMONDS

MARK SIMONDS is a Mechanical Engineer and Human Ecologist. He currently works for a major aircraft engine manufacturer where he helps develop fuel efficient aircraft engines in support of sustainable aviation fuels and a transition to greener technology. Mark is focused on living a sustainable lifestyle and actively conserving our natural resources. He encourages others do the same through organic gardening, home energy efficiency projects, and discovering the importance of conserving nature through outdoor activities. One of Mark's most memorable experiences was working with NFC National Chair Emily Bastian as a volunteer on the Maine Brook Trout Survey Project which helped identify previously unknown populations of wild brook trout in remote ponds and coastal streams. Mark's ongoing passion is continually learning about and communicating the importance of Maine’s wild native inland fisheries and how they can be preserved for the future.
