BRIAN REILLY

Knowing that you love the Earth changes you, activates you to protect and defend and celebrate. But when you feel that the Earth loves you in return, that feeling transforms the relationship into a sacred bond.
— Robin Wall Kimmerer

BRIAN REILLY grew up in Northern Virginia where he spent his free time fishing on a creek that ran through his neighborhood. He took up fly fishing in middle school, and like many his initial focus was to catch as many fish as possible each time he went out. As Brian matured, he shifted his pursuit to bigger, rarer, and more challenging wild native fish. This led to a deep appreciation of the ecosystems that support these species. Now a schoolteacher and social worker in Montgomery County, Maryland, he prizes immersion in and conservation of wild places. Brian can be reached at Info@NativeFishCoalition.org
