MATTHEW DURST-SCARLETT

MATTHEW DURST-SCARLETT grew up fishing in central Georgia. He moved to Rockville, Maryland, to work in the National Institutes of Health Shared Zebrafish Facility before relocating to the Northern Neck area of Virginia to manage an oyster farm. Matthew holds a M.S. in Animal Biotechnology and a B.S. in Fisheries Biology. When Matthew isn’t sorting oysters, he enjoys fishing the tidal waters of the Northern Neck and hiking. Matthew is also a lifetime martial artist who holds a second-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and is a Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner. He can be reached at Info@NativeFishCoalition.org
