CARRIE BALKMAN
“When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe.”
CARRIE BALKMAN grew up in Arkansas where she hiked and explored the vast national forests and kayaked the myriad rivers, streams, and lakes. She has a passion for the outdoors and works as a Park Interpreter at Lake Catherine State Park. Carrie discovered fly fishing in late 2022, which has led to a personal connection between herself the native fishes of Arkansas. Her favorite thing to do is fly fish for wild native smallmouth bass in the Ouachita Mountains. Carrie looks to use her role with NFC to promote the Natural State and its wild native fishes.
