Note: Effective 1/1/2022, Vermont’s daily limit on brook trout in rivers and streams has been decreased from 12-fish to 8-fish. And while the old limit allowed only 6 nonnative trout to be harvested, but all 12 could be brook trout, the new limit treats all trout species the same. While a step in the right direction, this is still high, and leaves VT tied for the highest in native range along with Massachusetts and Georgia.
