Letter to AFTTA in Regard to Native Fish

NFC recently joined American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFTTA) as a “Non-Profit” member. While primarily a “fly fishing” organization, AFFTA also has Conservation Fund. Per AFFTA, “The AFFTA Fisheries Fund was created as a funding arm for fisheries conservation and education efforts. This targeted giving program is aimed at preserving habitat, wildlife and access to our healthy fisheries…”

NFC would like to take advantage of the AFFTA conservation fund if/wherever possible, and If we are to solicit support from AFTTA, or anyone else for that matter, we should be willing to support them.

NFC would also like to work with AFFTA in regard to strengthening the native fish messaging, while fully recognizing that the organization serves many masters, including the fly fishing tackle, retail, and guiding industries which are very much reliant on nonnative fish in regard to trout fishing.
