NFC Executive Director Bob Mallard recently talked native fish with Maine Outdoors radio. Bob has been an annual guest on the show for a decade or so. While show host V. Paul Reynolds, editor/publisher of the Northwoods Sporting Journal, and Bob are on opposing sides as often as not in regard to issues involving our natural resources, they discuss and debate topics fairly and civily. As a side note, Bob and Paul were discussing the stocking of nonnative and highly invasive lake trout in Green Lake in Maine on top of wild native rare Arctic charr. As the species blamed for the demise of charr in NH and VT, Bob is strongly opposed to the stocking while Paul defends it on the grounds of fishing and getting the most from the resource.
