Alan James Robinson is known to many as “The Map Guy,” for his unique fish paintings done using topographical maps as a background. He has been a staple at fly fishing shows for years. Alan has fished all over the country and world. As a wildlife artist and outdoorsman, he is committed to advancing the understanding of nature through presentations to conservation groups, sporting clubs, and other organizations. Alan has also published more than 25 limited edition books.

Several years ago, Alan reached out to NFC with an offer to create an original painting to help raise money for our wild native fish conservation efforts. This resulted in the creation of a brook trout painting based on NFC’s signature fish used on our brochure, website, and other media. The fish, a wild native brook trout, was caught by NFC Executive Director and founding member Bob Mallard in Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  

After selling all of the signed and numbered matted prints Alan provided to NFC, we have 2 Artist Proofs remaining to sell: IV and V. These limited edition prints are professionally matted and framed. A great addition to your fly tying room, library, or camp, these prints will also help raise money to support NFC’s wild native fish conservation efforts.
