NFC Talks Wild Native Trout Management with The Hippo

The Hippo, a weekly free newspaper out of Manchester, NH, recently did a piece on New Hampshire’s state symbols. While they noted the brook trout as the State Freshwater Fish, they posted pictures of nonnative brown trout on the cover.

This interaction led to a series of emails between NFC Vice Chair Bob Mallard and the editor of the paper, which in turn resulted in an OpEd by Mallard that appears on Page 2 of the current edition. Kudos to The Hippo for giving voice to New Hampshire’s wild native fish, both times :)
