Who Likes Native Fish

Native Fish Coalition uses memberships to help fund its conservation work. While small in number, the distribution is impressive. Less than 1.5 years into our existence we have at least one member in 27 different states. Our strongest membership states have been Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont respectively. Note that Massachusetts is not a chapter state.

Donations are a critical part of our funding, and more so than memberships. They are second only to grants. To date we have received donations from 16 states. Our strongest are Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Florida respectively. Note that Massachusetts and Florida are not a chapter states.

Retail sales, schwag, have been a more important part of our funding model than we expected. While there is a cost to deliver this, the gross numbers are high, and it is profitable. We have sold items into 24 states. Our strongest retail states have been Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Florida respectively. Note that Massachusetts and Florida are not a chapter states.

If I had to guess as to why Florida scores so high in regard to donations and retail sales, I’d say it’s because that’s where a lot of New Englanders spend their winters. As for Massachusetts, many residents fish in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
