Maine NFC Chair Emily Bastian with a new custom State Heritage Fish sign for state-owned public lands.

Just in, custom State Heritage Fish signs for Maine’s state-owned public lands. Working with Bureau of Parks and Lands, Maine NFC designed a special sign that uses agency colors and includes an agency logo.

NFC purchased enough signs to cover the roughly 35 State Heritage Fish waters on state-owned land as well as extras for ongoing maintenance, future land purchases, and new pond designations.

The signs will be mounted on brown painted boards with small awnings to help protect them from the weather and give them a common look and feel. Special thanks to Bill Sheldon, columnist for The Maine Sportsman, for donating the backboards.

Special thanks to Andy Cutko and Doug Reed from Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands for working with NFC on this important wild native trout initiative.
