Epic 370 FastGlass Fly Rod (March 2020)

In March 2020 we drew the winner for a NFC logoed Epic 370 FastGlass fly rod.  Generously donated by Swift Fly Fishing out of New Zealand,  the raffle raised over $1,900, or more than twice the retail value, for wild native fish conservation initiatives.

Made from high-tech unidirectional S2 glass, this 7-foot 3-weight 4-piece fiberglass rod is an NFC favorite.  National Vice Chair Bob Mallard, National Secretary/Treasurer and Maine Chair Emily Bastian, and Technologist Ben Brunt all own one and use it regularly.

After selling 100 tickets, we drew the winner streamside at an iced-in wild native brook trout stream in New Hampshire’s White Mountains.

The lucky winner, Andy from New York, was notified accordingly.  He acknowledged our email, gave us a mailing address, and the rod was shipped to him promptly. It’s fair to assume that our friend and supporter is quite excited about his new rod.

The winning ticket was sold at the New Jersey Fly Fishing Show in February. We waited a bit to make sure everyone had their tickets in hand before drawing a winner, as the last 10 or so were sold online and mailed out.

Special thanks to Carl McNeil and our friends at Epic.  Without the support of people like Carl and companies like Epic, we could not do what we do.
