SNATCHING DEFEAT FROM THE JAWS OF VICTORY

12-5 Proposal.png

NFC Executive Director Bob Mallard chimes in on Vermont’s current proposal to reduce their highest-in-native-range daily limit on brook trout in rivers and streams from 12 fish to 8 fish.

For decades, Vermont has lagged notably behind all other states in brook trout native range in regard to protection from angler exploitation. At 12 fish, Vermont’s daily harvest limit on brook trout in rivers and streams is 33% higher than any other state, more than twice that of 15 of 22 states, and double that of three other states. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
