SC NFC board member Amanda Hoffner Talks Native Fish with Tenkara Angler...

That is a big reason why I joined the Native Fish Coalition (NFC) as a South Carolina board member. Their habitats are important to me and my tenkara experiences.
— Amanda Hoffner

South Carolina NFC board member Amanda Hoffner, also known as Lady Tenkara Bum, talked about the importance of native fish in a recent article in Tenkara Angler. Amanda noted her involvement in NFC and how it has helped bring it all together for her.

Like NFC Executive Bob Mallard noted in an earlier piece in Tenkara Angler, Amanda sees the important connection between tenkara and wild native fish. As a small stream centric form of angling, tenkara puts you in the type of habitat least impacted by nonnative fish introductions and stocking. And as Amanda notes, this includes both coldwater and warmwater environments.

I love these streams, I love these fish and their homes, and I am glad I found an organization that is fighting to protect, preserve, and restore these native fish habitats.

Special thanks to Amanda and the folks at Tenkara Angler for giving voice to wild native fish.
