When it comes to wild native brook trout, Rangeley, Maine, is inarguably the top destination in the United States. Home to historic Upper Dam, the fabled Kennebago, Rapid, Magalloway, Cupsuptic, and Rangeley Rivers, and Rangeley, Mooselookmeguntic, Cupsuptic, Upper and Lower Richardson, Kennebago, Aziscohos, and Parmachene Lakes, there is more blue ribbon wild native brook trout water in and around Rangeley than anywhere else in the country.

Home of the legendary White Nose Pete, Maine’s first Registered Guide Cornelia “Fly Rod” Crosby, fly tyer Carrie Stevens and her world famous grey ghost streamer, the historic Rangeley boat, and fly fishing landmarks Upper Dam and Lower Dam, Rangeley also has a deep and rich fly fishing history, lore, and culture. Kennebago Lake is the largest fly fishing only water east of the Mississippi, and Kennebago River is said to be the first fly fishing only water in the nation.
