NFC Wraps up 2-year Study at Trout Brook in Dover, Massachusetts...
“Trout Brook without brook trout is like Deer Valley without deer, Bear Mountain without bears, and Loon Lake without loons. It is an epitaph to our failure to protect and preserve a unique and important natural resource...”
NFC spent the better part of two years assessing the ecological health of Trout Brook in Dover, Massachusett. An historical wild native brook trout stream less than 15 miles from Boston, Trout Brook has changed notably over the past generation.
After presenting our findings, NFC is hoping that there is enough local interest to try to mitigate some of the problems faced by Trout Brook today. Without action, Trout Brook will continue to decline in regard to functioning as a coldwater ecosystem.
