LARRY BASTIAN learned to fish as a child on the small mountain freestone streams of Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, where he caught his first wild native brook trout.  He has fly fished for fifty years, starting when his Dad showed him how to tie one fly – a Royal Coachman.  Larry moved to Maine in 1979 where he expanded his brook trout fishing to rivers and ponds as well as brooks.  He was an active Trout Unlimited member for many years in Pennsylvania and Maine.  Larry is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys striper fishing, deer hunting, camping, hiking and time in the wilderness.  Larry is a professional civil engineer with experience in infrastructure construction, river hydraulics and culverts.  He is also the brother of well-known classic fly tyer Don Bastian, and the father of NFC founding member and current Maine chapter Chair, Emily Bastian.  Larry can be reached at Info@nativefishcoalition.org
