EMILY SHOSH

People protect what they love.
— Jacques Cousteau

EMILY SHOSH works as the Communications and Outreach Advisor for the Potter County Conservation District in Coudersport, Pennsylvania. She received a B.S. in Environmental Science from Mansfield University in 2016, and a Master of Education in Environmental Education from Slippery Rock University in 2021. Emily found her calling as an outdoor educator through internships with Pennsylvania State Parks, and as a Naturalist at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center in Finland, Minnesota.  At her current role with the Conservation District, Emily works to organize volunteer events, tree plantings, pollinator plots, invasive species treatments and education, workshops, and outreach events. Emily also creates lesson plans, educational videos, and many other environmental education-related publications.  In addition, Emily organizes education and outreach on behalf of the District’s Watershed Restoration projects, general best management practices for soil and water conservation, and the Dirt and Gravel/Low Volume Roads program and projects. Emily has a very wide array of outdoor interests and passions but traces it all back to some of her first experiences in the outdoors – fishing, camping, and hiking.
