IAN HUGHES

IAN HUGHES was born in California and moved to Massachusetts in 2022 to pursue a PhD in Biology. Ian was interested in the ocean and fisheries from an early age, leading to him graduating with a bachelors in Marine Biology from University of California San Diego. Ian became interested in fly fishing as a child when his grandfather gave him a bamboo fly rod. He’s been an avid fly fisher ever since, traveling the country in pursuit of native trout species. Ian’s interest in protecting native fish species stem from both a passion for conservation, as well as angling. He can be reached at Info@nativefishcoalition.org
