CHRIS HENRICKSON
CHRIS HENRICKSON was born and raised in the New York City borough of Staten Island, just a block away from his father’s center-console fishing boat docked in Great Kills Harbor. He has enjoyed camping, hiking, and fishing for both saltwater and freshwater species of fish from the Jersey Shore up to Great North Woods in Maine since he was a child. This has resulted in a deep appreciation of conservation and unspoiled land and water. Chris’ favorite fish are “Any wild fish, born without the interference of man, that is living out its life within its historic native species range”. He believes that given the multitude of current threats such as invasive species, stocked fish, climate change and habitat degradation, time is of the essence in regard to saving and enhancing what remains of our wild native fish. Chris has extensive experience as a volunteer in a variety of non-profit, environmental, conservation, and professional organizations in New Jersey over the past ten years. He is particularly excited to be a founding member of the New Jersey chapter of Native Fish Coalition, and will continue to focus his volunteer efforts on behalf of native fish. A resident of Northern New Jersey, Chris is a licensed Architect with Master’s Degrees in Architecture and Civil Engineering. Chris can be reached at Info@nativefishcoalition.org
