DOUG COSTA
DOUG COSTA is a lifelong resident of New Jersey. He first learned about Native Fish Coalition at the Fly Fishing Show in Edison, New Jersey. Doug chose to get involved in NFC to help educate anglers and state residents about the need for, and benefits of protecting wild native fish and their habitats in New Jersey. This is especially true in regard to brook trout, New Jersey’s official State Fish. Based on genetic research conducted in 2008 by the New Jersey Department of Fish and Wildlife, these fish were determined to be descendants of the native brook trout that colonized the Northeast following deglaciation about 12,000 years ago. Doug has worked as a NJ Transit Locomotive Engineer for over 20 years. He can be reached at Info@nativefishcoalition.org
