AGUST GUDMUNDSSON

AGUST GUDMUNDSSON was born in Reykjavik, Iceland, and emigrated to New Jersey prior to starting schoool. He spend his childhood biking around the streams of northwest New Jersey. Agust’s environmental activism started in 1972 when he wrote a letter to then president Richard Nixon in support of the clean water act. He joined Trout Unlimited in the 1980's to fight the stocking of nonnative Pacific salmon in New Jersey. Agust served as TU chapter president and State Council Chair, and was active in the National Board over the years. He was appointed to the New Jersey Fish and Game Council in 2010, serving until 2020, when he relocated to Colorado for work. Since retiring, Agust has returned to New Jersey to be close to his chidren and grandchildren. Agust can be reached at Info@NativeFishCoalition.org.
