MARK BROWN

I believe that one of the best ways to help our natural environment is to share my love of our wild and natural places with people and hope they appreciate it enough to help protect it.
— Mark Brown

MARK BROWN was born and raised in a small town just north of Atlanta, Georgia. He moved to Tennessee to take a job with Dagger Canoe and Kayak company. After eight years with Dagger, Mark went to work for Chota Outdoor Gear. Having filled many roles at Chota, Mark purchased the company in 2017. Two years later he sold it to Ranger Group LLC, and currently works with Ranger in product development. Mark was introduced to hiking, camping and fishing in the mountains of Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina at a very young age by his father. Living in Knoxville allows Mark to fish and explore the Appalachian Mountains as well as the Cumberland Plateau. Somewhere along the way, a friend took Mark snorkeling in a creek on the Cumberland Plateau. He was amazed at the biodiversity and multitude of fish species. Since that trip, Mark has never viewed streams the same way, while understanding the important role native fish play in a healthy ecosystem. Mark looks to NFC to help promote the conservation of wild native fish. He can be reached at Info@nativefishcoalition.org
