DUSTIN ELLIOTT

DUSTIN ELLIOTT is a Kentucky native. He developed a deep appreciation for wild places and the lifeforms they support at an early age while visiting places such as Red River Gorge and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. After residing in more than a dozen states over a period of just two decades, Dustin moved to Asheville, North Carolina, where he lives today. Dustin is an Air Force veteran, former NASA engineering researcher, and published technical writer. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University. Dustin’s interest in wild native fish grew from years spent exploring and fly fishing the boulder-strewn, spring-fed streams of Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. What began as a fascination with wild native brook trout gradually became a broader and deeper interest in watersheds, habitats, and the native species that call them home. Dustin looks to use his role at NFC to perform hands-on conservation work. He can be reached at Info@NativeFishCoalition.org
