Sixpenny Creek DRAFT sign.png

Pennsylvania NFC Board member Thomas Malason and Secretary Christopher Mickey posted the first six of what will be a dozen informational signs on Sixpenny Creek in Berks County in southeastern PA. Designed and paid for by NFC, the signs will be posted in French Creek State Park. PA NFC has also assumed responsibility for maintaining the signs going forward.

Sixpenny Creek is a small stream that tributaries into the Schuylkill River. While the lower stream is classified as “mixed brook/brown trout,” barriers are believed to keep brown trout out of the headwaters. A small unnamed tributary is designated as Class-A brook.

Special thanks to French Creek State Park manager James Wassell, PA Board members Thomas Malason and Christopher Mickey, PA NFC Chair Philip Light, NFC Technologist Ben Brunt, and NFC National Vice Chair Emily Bastian for making this happen.
