WV NFC Gets a Lesson in eDNA...

This spring, West Virginia NFC worked with local Trout Unlimited to learn the proper procedures and protocols for eDNA surveying. The event took place at the Seneca Rocks Discovery Center, where eDNA kits and samples were provided to WV NFC to help identify previously undocumented populations of candy darter.

This was the first in-person event for WV NFC. After they were done for the day, WV NFC board members took to the woods to find some wild native brook trout.

In attendance were WV NFC Chair Micah Bates, Secretary Drew Jacobs, and board members Jared Bishop, and Jon Hardman, as well as friend Wesley Jesse and his dog Freddie. TU was represented by Jeff Kresch and Chris Byrd.

Thanks to all who attended on behalf of nfc, and to TU for their support.
