Campaign Update: Maine NFC Helps Unveil Rangeley Lakes Arctic Charr Sign...

Height of Land scenic vista in Roxbury, Maine…

Maine NFC joined representatives from Maine DOT and Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust at Height of Land scenic vista in Roxbury, Maine, for the unveiling of an informational kiosk denoting the historic presence, and loss, of the most significant population of rare Arctic charr in the contiguous United States.

While most of what NFC does with regard to informational signage spotlights species and life history strategy presence, we believe it is equally as important to spotlight the loss of such as it reminds us what was once there and what else could be lost if we are not careful…

NFC is hoping to expand our Arctic charr signage project to New Hampshire and Vermont, both of which have lost all their Arctic charr.
