New Hampshire NFC Submits Wild Native Brook Trout Management Wish List...
“Recently, anglers, businesses, and other orgs in NH opposed changing the rules on stocked trout ponds from fly fishing only to artificial lures only and the removal of catch and release regulations from nonnative trout waters. Part of sweeping regulations change proposal from NH Fish and Game, NFC focused solely on the removal of protective catch and release from three rare to the state wild native brook trout ponds...” ”
Having recently opposed a proposal to remove catch and release from the only three formally designated wild brook trout ponds in the state, NH NFC was asked by NHFG to document what we would like to see in regard to wild native brook trout regulations.
While NFC had previously documented our concerns with regard to NH’s faltering Wild Trout Management program, we took the opportunity to expand beyond that which is formally designated as “wild” today with regard to brook trout.
