Your donation helps NFC procure field equipment, lab tests, and informational signage for our Cheesecake Brook project in Newton, Massachusetts. This includes water temperature loggers and eDNA metabarcoding tests. Cheesecake Brook is a heavily altered urban stream, yet wild native fish persist, including catadromous American eels.
NFC looks to learn more about this unique resource and make life a bit easier for aquatic life found there. We also would like to see the the stream reconnected to the Charles River in regard to fish passage, including anadromous river herring. Thank you for the support, we truly appreciate it.
