QUINN SMITH

It is the range of biodiversity that we must care for - the whole thing - rather than just one or two stars.
— Sir David Attenborough

QUINN SMITH is a PhD Candidate at the University of Wisconsin - Madison studying fisheries ecology. He grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and moved to Duluth, Minnesota to complete his undergraduate and Master's degree. Quinn has had an interest in and passion for fish from a young age. Spending time in and around Lake Superior ignited an interest in fisheries sciences and native species, as well as communicating the importance of wild native fishes through education and outreach. Between graduate degrees Quinn was an aquarist and a researcher at the Great Lakes Aquarium working with native salmonid species, 6 different sturgeon species, and Amazonian fishes. Quinn’s favorite thing to do is fly fishing the driftless region or the lakes in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. He can be reached at Info@NativeFishCoalition.org.
