KEVIN MACCONNELL
KEVIN MACCONNELL was born in New Jersey. After living in Florida for a bit, Kevin returned to his home state where he graduated from Rutgers. Kevin discovered his love for the outdoors while living in Hunterdon County. He developing an interest in small stream fly fishing with his grandfather who spoke of the “natives” he used to catch in the 60s. Kevin found the stream his grandfather spoke of and learned that it was still home to wild native brook trout, while ALSO learning about recent restoration work done by New Jersey Fish and Wildlife. He has spent the past few years exploring small streams from New Hampshire to Maryland. Kevin was introduced to NFC while working at South Branch Outfitters in Califon, NJ. He noticed a need for increased education in regard to native fish during conversations with customers. Kevin looks to use his role at NFC to inform the public about conservation and advocate for wild native fish. He currently works as a parks and recreation professional with a focus on open space.
