Georgia's Sweetwater Creek Gets First Shoal Bass Signs...

Alpharetta Outfitters GM Jeff Wright and GA NFC board member Eric Rogers…

We are excited to work with and support GA NFC’s efforts to protect, preserve, and restore wild native shoal bass habitat at Sweetwater Creek State Park and throughout Georgia, and looking forward to participating in more projects going forward...
— Jeff Wright, Alpharetta Outfitters

Nonnative spotted bass pose a threat to native shoal bass in Sweetwater Creek and other Georgia waters. Georgia NFC and Alpharetta Outfitters worked with Georgia Department of Natural Resources to develop an informational sign to encourage anglers to remove nonnative spotted bass when encountered to help protect native shoal bass.

Recently, GA NFC worked with Interpretive Ranger Adrian Fox from Sweetwater Creek State Park, and Jeff Wright from Alpharetta Outfitters to post some signs on Sweetwater Creek. The signs were afixed to existing posts and kiosks, as well as trees along the stream.

SPECIAL THANKS TO GA NFC board member Eric Rogers, our friends at Alpharetta Outfitters who funded the project, and GA DNR for making this happen.

Please support alpharetta outfitters as they have supported nfc and our wild native fish.
