Promotional Materials

Background

Promotional materials are critically important to any business, agency, or organization.  It is how an entity promotes itself, recruits members, solicits donations, sells merchandise, and publishes events.

Goals

NFC looks to be uniform and consistent in regard to the use of promotional materials. This includes both the national and state levels, and applies to all online and print media.

Policy

Promotional materials developed at the chapter level must be approved in advance by National NFC. This includes, but is not limited to, business cards, informational cards, brochures, placard cards, event or fish posters, show banners, etc.

All promotional material must adhere to NFC’s primary colors, standard fonts - or as close as you can get, standard and appropriate logos, and approved fish art and/or photographs.

  • While NFC’s standard is fish art, there are times when photographs are the best option.

    • Photos must be clear, sans of any hooks, lures, blood, or obvious tissue damage, and demonstrate proper fish handling.

    • Ideally, photos are the property of NFC.

      • If using photos from an outside source you must provide written use permission.

The NFC website is designed with Lato as the text font and Trump Gothic Pro for headings.  If you are unable to access these fonts, use a similar font such as Calibri.

NFC has a series of approved logos in various colors and format options.  While there are many options, chapter developed media should use the applicable state logo.

While our default is full-color logos, you may use a logos in white/clear, black/clear options, and where approved, a single color logo outside of white and black. Full-color logos are available in JPG and PNG format from the NFC cloud.

As a rule, NFC uses fish art from National Advisory Council member Joseph Tomelleri.  If you are looking to use fish art, please reach out to national NFC to see if we can get what you need from Joseph.  If not, you will be allowed to source the artwork elsewhere.  However, we will need written proof-of-use-permission.

In no case will National NFC provide or approve funding for custom artwork. Chapters must either develop their own media or solicit gratis support to do so. Like fish art, we will need written proof-of-use-permission for anything developed by a 3rd party.
