When deploying data loggers in streams, it’s often necessary to pound a stake into the streambed to secure the unit. NFC prefers a compact, safe and durable 14-inch, 4-pound, engineering hammer with steel head and fiberglass handle. To make it as safe as possible, NFC uses a slotted 4x4 block with handles to stabilize the installation bar, absorb the shock, and keep our team’s hands away from the hammer. These are also ideal for chipping old concrete to assess its condition and strength.
