PA NFC Attends Altoona Brookies Games to Promote Wild Native Fish
Members of our Pennsylvania chapter represented NFC at a series of minor league baseball games in Altoona, PA, where the Altoona Curve temporarily rebranded themselves as the Altoona Brookies to help raise awareness for PA’s state fish.
NFC had informational signs, brochures, and other native fish schwag. The group spoke with numerous attendees about native fish conservation in Pennsylvania, especially the plight of brok trout which have been lost, or seriously compromised, from many of the states waters.
Thanks to the Blair County Conservation District for organizing the event and inviting NFC to participate. In attendance for NFC were PA Chair Philip Light, PA Vice Chair Andrew Mickey, and PA board member Bryan Mathie .
