BRANDING

Background

Branding is critically important to any business, agency, or organization.  It is how an entity is recognized, and a major source of promotion and recruitment.  This is why organizations like TU, BHA, NRA, Audubon, etc., have strict logo rules.  As such, NFC adheres to strict branding rules and guidelines.

Goals

NFC looks to be uniform and consistent in regard to the use of logos, colors, fonts, artwork, etc.  This includes both the national and state levels, and applies to all online and print media, logo merchandise, etc.  Variations of our logo that utilize non-standard colors and artwork can water down the value of our branding.

Policy

NFC’s primary colors are red/orange, orange/gold, dark gray, medium gray, and beige.  We ask that people get as close to NFC colors as possible, unless there is a reason not to.  The same holds true for fonts.  The website is designed with Lato as the text font and Trump Gothic Pro for headings.  Use a similar font such as Calibri where possible.

NFC has a series of approved logos in various colors and format options.  This includes the standard national “Est. 2017,” “PROTECT.PRESERVE.RESTORE,” “Board Member,” “Conservation Partner,” “Business Sponsor,” “Lifetime Member,” as well as state logos, fish species logos, and project logos such as “Rock Dam Buster” and “State Heritage Fish.”

All full-color NFC logos employ the same color scheme.  Several logos are authorized for use in white/clear and black/clear options as well.  Some have been approved in other single colors with clear background for specific merchandise.  Full-color logos are available in JPG and PNG format. Single-color/clear logos are available in PNG format only.

As a rule, we prefer the “PROTECT.PRESERVE.RESTORE” logo for most uses. We are however still using the “Est. 2017” for the 2.25” hat patch due to size. Any notable variations from NFC logos, artwork, colors, and fonts must be pre-approved by National NFC.

As a rule, NFC uses fish art from National Advisory Council member Joseph Tomelleri.  If you are looking to use fish art, please reach out to national NFC to see if we can get what you need from Joseph.  If not, you will be allowed to source the artwork elsewhere.  However, we will need written proof-of-use-permission, as well as approving any use fees in advance.
