INSTALLING LOGGERS

When assessing a stream, especially when wild native brook trout are present, monitoring water temperature is critically important. The best way to do that is to install data loggers at strategic locations throughout the stream to identify average, high, and low temperatures, spikes, thermal stressors, and thermal refuge. Loggers are deployed from spring to fall and checked periodically to download the data.
