New NFC Chapter: Rhode Island...

NFC is excited to announce the launch of a new Rhode Island chapter.  Our 20th state chapter, this completes our footprint in New England, as well as expanding our presence in the Northeast with just Delaware left to go.  If you are interested in getting involved in Rhode Island NFC, please contact us at Info@NativeFishCoalition.org

While NFC has not had a formal presence in RI until now, we have had several projects in the state.  In 2019, NFC worked with Rhode Island TU and RIDEM on a 3-part informational sign project for the upper Wood River.  In 2022, we worked with RITU, Protect Rhode Island Brook Trout, and RIDEM on a sign discouraging the building of rock dams on the Beaver River.  In 2023, NFC supported RI TU's effort to remove a dam

RITU President Glenn Place has been on the Massachusetts NFC Advisory Council since its inception and will be serving in the same capacity for Rhode Island NFC.  In 2024, NFC Executive Director Bob Mallard and National Chair Emily Bastian were the guest speakers at the RITU annual fund-raiser banquet.

Special thanks to our new Rhode Island team: Chair Brett Holden, Vice Chair Dryden Eliason, Secretary Marc Genereux, and members at large Brady CransonBrian EliasonNatalie Eliason, and Jim Hunt.  And thanks to National Chair Emily Bastian and Technologist Ben Brunt for their help with logistics.
