Alabama NFC Attends Event to Raise Money for Native Fish Conservation

Despite the rain, a large crowd gathered at the 1st annual charity beer release benefiting Native Fish Coalition and Cahaba Riverkeeper. Several thousand dollars were raised through a raffle and merchandise sales to support Alabama’s wild native fish and the habitat they live in.

Hosted by Oversoul Brewing out of Helena, Alabama, 50 percent of the proceeds from two specialty beers brewed for the event, The Lip Ripper IPA and Tight Lines Rye, were donated to native fish and habitat conservation.

Daysol Coffee Lab, also of Helena, roasted an NFC/Cahaba Riverkeeper branded specialty coffee, Woolley Bugger Blend, with 50 percent of the sales going to conservation.

In attendance for Alabama NFC were Chair Steve Scoggins, Vice Chair Stephen Rockarts, and Members at Large Steven Cook and Rowell Guevarra.

AL NFC Member at Large Rowell Guevarra, AL NFC Chair Steve Scoggins, AL NFC Vice Chair Stephen Rockarts, and Oversoul Brewing owner Jason Pruitt.
